You can fit the under dash cross brace, including welding in brackets WITHOUT removing the dash..
But everything else needs to come out.. T bar, seats, centre tunnel etc
We found out the hard way yesterday that the metal tray that carries the heater controls needs 15mm chopped off the back edge in order to prevent the bracket hitting the cross member
Was a 7 hour job in the end.. After we did some wiring too whilst car was in bits
The cross brace is sold by VHS and fits F's only

I believe that is because the cross brace is already fitted to TFs as the VHS kit is based on the modifications MGR made to make the TF stiffer than the F

Tests show the full VHS kit ups the torsional stiffness a good deal.. Worth the effort in my opinion
Ben I was hoping to give the 'chrominator' a few welding lessons yesterday but we didn't get time

Well I am getting one of those mini ones from Lidl if they have any left tomorrow, idea is to do wheel arches etc myself, if I mess it up it makes no difference as my guy can just correct it ..
Will you be able to get Mr G's colour made up for me ? Pretty please :hugs:

I think it would a great idea if we could get a few 'tinkering days' organised on the TBar .... perhaps a north, and a south meet...... maybe two a year, spring and autumn?
Perhaps those of a more gifted mechanical aptitude might be interested in organising? :drive:

At the last fix it day, Russell and Jon Norris were there helping people. Clive was fixing windows and I was adjusting epas sensors.
It was a fantastic day and lots of work was done. :yesnod:
The main issue is the venue. you need somewhere under cover with power, water and toilets.
