Weather being like it is a few hours of rubbing down a dash would be a way of passing the time,did you sand it by hand

I used an air powered DA sander with 120 grit paper. Then 320 then 800

Plastic primed. Then filler primer, then again sanded with 800

You could do it by hand

Personally I'd buy a second hand dash and do that, then swap the 2 dashes at the end
