Want to sell my mg but unsure what its worth

I have decided that it is time to sell my mg tf 160
I have owned her for 2 years and have now spent in the region of £5000 on it!
Idea of some of the parts
Spax shocks plus spare protech shocks for track days
Eibech springs
Goodridge brake hoses
Black diamond discs
Ebc pads
Green powder coated front sub
All front bolts high tensile cap heads
Rebuilt ap callipers
Polly bushed

So can some one help me on price idea! I'm being optimistic and had £3000 ish in mind! Or am I being mad

Ultimately Daniel, it's worth what someone will be prepared to pay for it, how much you're prepared to flex on that £3k and how speedily you want the deal done. I don't think that your £3k price tag is unreasonable considering the sum of it's parts. Can it wait until the warmer months? Good luck with the sale. :broon:

The other option would be selling off all your trick bits off you'd get your money back that way

Well I'm in no rush at all! Ill happily hang on! I think I'm going to stick it on eBay with a 2k start bid and just hope for magic to happen! Lol
I suppose I could sell my spare suspension and cam and bits that aren't on the car! Did think about taking it to stonliegh and silverstone and pay for a sale plot. It needs a real mg prrvert to buy it lol

You should have people lined up wanting to buy it. But realistically everyone expects these cars to sell for a pound

I saw a 55 reg 160 standard 160 go for 2k this week (sorry)

3k would be nice but, you know it runs like a peach and everybody who knows you knows what the cars like ........but to somebody else , they dont care you have spent 5k on it.....sorry about this but would say £2300 for a more realistic figure for an 02, i know that is pittance and personally i wouldnt sell it it looks too good , if you can keep it

I bought my 03 reg TF160, VVC, May 2012, for £3250, I knew it was above what 03's were going for.

But it had everything I was looking for, flip paint, hard top, one owner, ( zilch history, only draw back,) but it didnt bother me. I went to look at a MGF, £1200, odd but he had sold that.

The wife said, buy it, why go and get a banger and spend more on getting it fixed, that this sorted one. So it was bought, no checking for Mayo and all the other checks you should do, just had to have it.

Any way, with your high spec car, I wouldnt worry about market trends and figures, its unique. A enthusiast will know what you have and will be prepared to pay, so go in high, you can always come down.

Best of luck if you do decide to sell it, but as others have said, keep it!!!!!

I've been looking at some more track/race focused seats and harnesses - so I'd be interested in those if you decide to remove the trick bits.
