My MGF progress
I can confirm what Cobber says. Owning a boat is like using £20 notes to light the fire :yesnod:
I bought a 1971 river/sea cruiser to do up & use for my dream of sailing it from Calais to the Med.
About another £10k later it was ready & actually completed the trip :woohoo:
It's not just the upkeep but all the other costs like mooring fees, insurance, licences & equipment that need to be considered.
I suppose a trailable speed boat would be the cheapest option.
Good luck.

Get married.

Become accustomed to having zero disposable income for many many years.
Have some disposable income when kids bugger off.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
