Thanks - I'll reverse them again!

I've had a good look at my seat belt guides which look the same as the ones fitted by tjdonc to try to work out why one way-up they can damage the belt while the other way-up doesn't. The chamfering is the same alround the large slot for the belt so reversing it shouldn't make a difference. The slot for fitting the belt is not chamfered and has a hard corner on the exit - I guess this is where damage could occur and would result in torn webbing in the centre underside of the belt (not sure where people have had a problem as I've not found the previous thread). As I prefer mine slot down I've just used a couple of craft files to chamfer the slots and the corners where the belts exit. They seem to be running smoothly but I will keep an eye on the belts of course.

Anyway, I like tjdonc's look as I've got the same! I have 'de-blinged' a bit though. I was never 100% sure I liked the alloy rings around the oil temperature gauge and the clock and when one fell off it made my mind-up and they are now both removed - if anyone wants them, just let me know. Where I think the 'bling' is good is the Mike Satur alloy surround around the minor switches as it makes them much easier to find compared to the black switch on a black background I previously had. I also like the feel of the alloy heater knobs, the handbrake knob and the alloy door pins. I can convince my self that the Mike Satur door kick panels are also functional as of course are the Mike Satur pedal covers.

Well the dashboard 'Allu' effect trim had been looking good......but....now in this hot weather the interior when stood for hours closed up has been unbearable resulting in the stick on film lift/expanding unevenly and will not go back down smoothly. :( :( ...However on close inspection it looks as though the centre console and all air vents may have a rigid 'plastic' odd brownish/grey carbon fibre effect overlay on them :yesnod: :nonod: anyone come across this 'overlay' if i can ease it off will give ago at spraying it up in silver. :pop:

Yeah, my car has that bloody awful fake carbonfibre sh!t, stuck onto the console insert and the ventilation register surrounds. By the look of it, it should just peel off and then you'd need to clean off the residue adhesive.
I intend to get rid of it on my car, when I get around to it

I skinned the instrument binnacle on my car with real carbon fibre, but after a couple of days of hot sun the skin separated from the binnacle. Shows you just how hot it gets under the windscreen. It's frustrating after all that work.. Now I'm considering making a mould and just making a CF binnacle.

Well after persevering for further month or 2 under these horrendous temperatures inside of the car, the stick on interior brushed Ally effect trim as shown:-

has settled down and is staying evenly adhered :woohoo:
