Dash Cam tryout
Awhile ago got a cheap dashcam of ebay (paid a bit extra getting one from a UK supplier rather than shipping from China), finally got the tryout trip downloaded onto my laptop, as instructions a bit vague unsure why its a series of short but VARIABLE length clips,

Mine is set for 5 minute segments but it resets with ignition on/off which is why I end up with variable length segments. Your may also have a motion sensorwhich might stop recording when stationary with nothing happening?
What's that black canvas thing behind the seats for?

yes instructions on mine were terrible.........sometimes helps if you speak Chinese.........got a bit thrustrated with mine doing segmented video..........until one afternoon I played around with the menu to get great lengthy video clips...........better night vision ,,,there probably segmented so you can view a part of the vid without the need to fast fwd or mess about searching....in the event of a accident you can get right to the point by sending your insurance company just the correct amount of segments to aid a claim,,,,,its amazing how much these little cams have on them it has a lcd screen which has adjustable angles and closes shut if you don't want to view...and can be placed upright or upside down with its adjustable cam angle............recommended for the price
the camera as zoom lens and for the £15 paid for it ive had some fun with it like filming a mouse eating the birds fatballs at a very close distance......even filmed a frog that hops at you screaming when you approach the front door of the house.....weird I know but without the footage who believed it was true........apparently checked out youtube on entering screaming frog in the search mine was one of many that do that :yesnod: ......but this summer time ill use it in the tf ........the buzzards are a more common sight in my area of work and most mornings one sits on the fence and flys in front of the van has I pass......must try and catch this one on vid....not to mention twice seeing deer herd leap out in front of my vehicle crossing the road in a mad leap...spotting these cameras more and more these days,,,even on helmets of motorbikes....don't ask me why but I left this camera videoing the dogs asleep has we left the house........the dogs were fast asleep.....the camera picked up the sound of our engine going up the road and if on cue when the coast was clear they lept into life one chasing the tail and the other barking like mad for a few seconds and then both returned back to the land of nod....whatever that was about I don't know but was great to see what goes on.

I got a dash cam back in Febuary. Ordered it from a UK supplier with a promised delivery before POL. It came from Germany after POL, all the on screen instructions in German although the instruction leaflet was in Chinese and English. However the type setter just mixed all the instructions up and the writing is so small I can't read it, even with glasses so I haven't bothered yet.
It will be a cool toy once it's working.

had another camera that was small enough to go on a keyring it was one of those disguised has a car key fob and sold under the heading of a spy camera......took a small tf card which when put in the card reader could be viewed on pc..stook one of these on dash binnacle with velcrove....got this off ebay on a bid for around a fiver.........good picture quality when the lighting is good and good sound to....took digital photos to .......again the instructions were in chinglish...................it was easier to go on youtube where real English speaking people put how tos for operating some of these cams ......even thought of getting a little drone to take this cam up in the air for some great shots...but I reckon you can buy them already built in ............might even set this little cam up in the road and drive over it at speed in the tf to give those top gear like shots has long has some trucker don't beat me to it and crush the little thing............great even for mounting outside of the mg say like on the bumpers front or rear...for those convoys or just fooling about..wheather permitting.......again using velcrove :bust: the possibilities are endless even used these little cams to look at hard to see areas of engines just to see what was going on before I took anything apart
