Vented bonnet was created by pgew

For some mad reason I want to embark on the next stage - TF200-ing - I have a pretty pair of side vents for painting and fixing, spotted a rear spoiler, likewise, but the big one is the vented bonnet (and then the under-bonnet mods required). I want the TF200 type, not least as it was shown to work, and wondered if anyone either had a bonnet they wanted to sell (saw one somewhere) or knew someone who had made one or had one made - and would be prepared to pass on who made it? Or finally, anyone with a whizz at body who would take on making a TF200 type?. I called MIRA and waiting to hear if they would let me have a drawing...

I must say cairnsys that the bonnet is the only good thing on that car imo.. The rest is too much Toyota style for me... whats your opinion?

Thank you for that suggestion. They also do a deflector so the air coming thru the front is forced out of the vents. The whole point you might think, but some buyers liked the styling rather than wanting it functional.

Part of the design idea by RPS was to keep the spare wheel and its weight and not have to chop up the front under the bonnet - while also making sure the air coming in the front gets directed to the vent rather than underneath the car, which would obviously add lift rather than downforce.

From all the efforts I've seen elsewhere that would seem to quite a challenge, so I have asked for a pic of the 'deflector' and more explanation of how it works. The deflector is also fibre-glass which not everyone is keen on, but they did say that the aim was a tight fit between the top of the deflector and the vent, which is obviously important.

I also think I read that the TF200 work found only a quarter of the radiator was functional, and therefore a much smaller rad could be fitted and could possibly make the design problems easier - has anyone gone down that path?

Completely agree, the car has changed shap too much for me. As has been said previously, it's your car, you can do what you want with it.

I completely don't disagree (if you follow me). I'm only interested in the bonnet - as for the rest, see my car pic attached.

The vented bonnet looks good on the TF. Cjj's for example looks particularly good.
