Sports Packs 1 and 2 are, I believe, an MG TF thing.
Sports Pack 2 is easy: ABS, larger front discs with 4 pot AP Racing calipers (the big red ones with MG on them), 16" 11 spoke wheels and IMS (Instant Mobility System, i.e. gunk to blow the tyre up in the event of a puncture and a pump). Maybe fog lights as well - not sure about this but mine is SP2 and has them. Don't be surprised to find that the IMS has been replaced with a spare wheel!
Sports Pack 1 is not so easy. It's basically lowered suspension by 10mm, which isn't very much. I spent ages trying to find out if mine had it or not. Measuring the wheel centre to the top of the wheel arch is supposedly the way to tell but all 4 of mine were different and the variation was more than 10mm! Since I changed the rear suspension units, including springs, I have been convinced that mine sits a little higher at the rear!

Try on here

. Under the Top left section there’s an article entitled “How to interpret the VIN”. Sounds like it might help though I don’t think it says anything about sports packs.
There are other articles about model history etc which could also help.
