Hi all
Thinking about rustproofing my TF in the New year. Any recommendations for companies around the West Mids plus ideas on cost would be welcome.

Happy New Year to you  :broon: :broon: all

If you have a set of ramps, it's quite do-able yourself, but if you do get bodyshop to do the work for you, some particular places to pay attention to are...

Behind the rear bumper and rear crash cans.
I had to remove the bumper on my TF and ended up replacing the crash cans, treating surrounding areas for rust and also had to fit new bumper brackets as the old ones had rotted away. I imagine most TF's will have problems in this area. I did this one myself...I know the paint I used to cover the treated areas is not the correct metallic grey, but its not seen behind the bumper......

Wheel arches are always rusting. A local bodyshop in Cheadle Staffs did some good work on mine, and treated the rust and also lined the arch with a rubberised coating to prevent stone chipping. He also waxoyled the inner arches and inside the sills...

I did the subframes myself, rub down the rust and treated with Jenolite rust treatment then a coat of black spray on underseal. Also new stainless subframe mounts all round.

Not sure where you are located but if Staffordshire is local to you, I used Cheadle bodyshop and the guy went over and above to do a fantastic job on my car. He also repainted both front wings and both bumpers, also colour coding some reversing sensors I fitted into the rear bumper.
