Hello all,

Clock in my MG F doesn't keep time. You set it within about 10 minutes it is already slow. Loses about an hour and a half over night. Brand new battery put on car so I don't think it is because car is flat battery. Loses time while engine on anyway. Any ideas?

Pull the fuse out of the circuit that feeds the clock and leave it out a few mins.
Hopefully should be ok when you restore the power.

When all else fails you can buy a stick on dashboard display clock for under £2
Cheap and super reliable.

They are not very good, the one in my VVC has never kept time.

One day I'll fit the roof mounted clock from a 1980's Ford Fiesta that's been in my shed for years and fit an oil pressure gauge on the dash.

We really shouldn't expect basic MGR stuff to work long term to be honest. When things like drive hubs die at 30k. Etc in our case. My older brother has three classic cars: a Ford, an Austin and a Wolseley at the moment. And has restored many others. Never had to fiddle with a clock other than clean the glass.

I had a Wolseley 15/50 years ago. Lovely square ivory coloured faced clock. Worked too.... Probably still does if the car still exists.

BL, MGR etc. To coin a phrase from WW1: Lions led by donkeys.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

The cars still running are the good ones that survived, where are all the others?

Those old wolesleys and ford's are good to look at but the smell of underseal they use to hide the rot in the floor pan makes you wanna nuke!
