They are cool clocks but do nothing to help the clock keep time.

Yes the cheetah clocks are cool and do nothing to fix the clock problem...but if my clock was faulty and it turned out it needed renewing...then I may think about a clock revamp at the same time
If disconnecting the clock from the power doesn't do the trick then it's new clock time has the teeth wear out on these clocks and the minute hand doesn't stay in tune with the hour hand...not a expensive replacement .

Alternatively you can disconnect the clock permanently ..at least this way it gives the correct time twice a day.:coat:

There seem to be plenty of S/H ones available. Whether they keep time is another matter......

just a thought: back in t'day, dash instruments were fed through a ballast resistor/compensating device to ensure accuracy at varying voltage levels: is this still the case does anyone know? I know ballast resistors are usually associated with ignition coils but I recall that Ford instrument resistors, a sealed can bolted to the back of the cluster, failed regularly resulting mainly in fuel gauge reading low. As I said, just a thought.....

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Has most stereo systems have a clock..and everyone carries a mobile with a clock and some people wear watches then has talking cars mentioned...ditch the clock in the dash and add another gauge more useful...oil preasure, volt meter,...or go digital

In any case if the clock isn't a quick fix...then I'm sure it's up to the garage to fix it...has you have only just bought the car....is it correct you get at least 30 days warranty/comeback with a garage when you buy a used car...I've had batteries, locks and cables replaced before so a clock should not be a problem...

My Mk2 F clock was hopeless. I bought a new old stock one and it worked fine.;)

Seeing Leigh's post I recall commenting that it's possibly some capacitive componentry storing a charge. Disconnection would allow this to dissipate.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

An update: the car's alternator is duff, so it may well be that the clock can't keep time because the battery isn't keeping charge. British Legends are replacing it and I'll see if that sorts it!

If not, thanks for the links!
