another rare occurrence
Clive very kindle offered to come over and help me fit my new AP calipers and discs, little did he know that when he opened his curtains this morning he would be greeted with 3-4 inches of snow :OMG:
however a mere 40 mile away at my house it was a loverly crisp sunny morning with not a snowflake in sight :dunno:
so after a bit of shoveling he was on his way............
Adam was still in bed nursing a hangover at this point! :merry:
anyway the actual changing of the calipers went very smoothly, once again all nuts and bolt behaving themselves and coming loose with just the gentlest of persuasion
a pic of the before
heres a couple of the during, please note who's doing the work !!
i wouldn't say there is a big difference between standard and large but
upon taking the wheel off the drivers side we were greeted with an interesting brake pipe arrangement :scared:
and heres the finished product....
after a couple of gentle runs up and down the street to make sure they were OK , we went for a short blast around some country roads
we let Clive keep his roof up!
what a total difference the larger brakes make, poor Adam had to back off as his standard brakes couldn't cope with the twisty roads
on getting back Clive was still looking for something to do and volunteered to put a bonnet vent in for me but i declined his very kind offer :yikes:
a couple more pics
at one point this strange student appeared to be moving into my house
although Clive didn't have the TF he still came in blue
Adam's special exhaust system, sounding good for £10..........
and Clive's ST with the rev limiter set at 3000 ( hope its OK!!)
it was a very enjoyable day and i must say a big thanks to Clive and Adam for driving over in bad conditions to keep an eye on me
many thanks lads :hurray::hurray:

Sounds like a fun day! And the AP's naturally look fantastic! Huge improvement and they suit the sporty alloys much more.
Well done guys! :piratebang:

only a woman would label a 14 pound sledge hammer as a "mallet"
no wonder men have "size" issues :dunno:
nice pics dude, what a difference tho, sets the new wheels up nicely :yesnod:

£10 exhaust system for the win! managed to keep up with the big lad with his 1.8 lol.... i'd of moved in but i didnt want two Primer TF's fighting for the garage! :jedifight:
the drive over was great actually... between 60miles with the roof down and the cups of coffee you kept me fed with i managed to battle off the evils of drink lol
on a serious note (for a change!) if anyone is thinking of fitting APs DO IT! i think i'm a pretty good driver but after 15 minuets on some glorious roads my breaks were completely spongy and i had to back off, up until that point i'd had no problem keeping up with phil but my poor standard breaks just couldn't take it... and by the time we got back to phils his wheels were stone cold and mine were actually painfully hot to touch (and it wasn't a warm day!)
APs, a good set of pads and vented disks really make a massive difference!

Oooh, depends on the snow. Might cost you a bit in fuel and accommodation though. Unless of course you want to come up here. :dunno:

I think what you meant to say was I can keep up with you lot, even in the wifes car.
