I've always associated the Stranglers with Guildford so I guess the Guildford Stranglers?

I was a big fan back in the day and managed to see them twice.

Top marks to TC! Guildford Stranglers they were. Saw them a few times too and very controversial they were, the gigs used to be very heated with fan behaviour!

Stumped. But I'll stick with the honour system and not Google. Not really my era, or indeed type of music, though my older bro was a fan. Is Kathys Clown one of theirs?

Now you are on my level...been watching on youtube ian gillan singing smoke on the water.christmas eve.loved this song in my schooldays and still do..some stupid with a flare gun burnt the place to the ground...they ikGmentioned how frank zappa had the best hotel..so I can imagine deep purple getting piss ed off..they had to sing about it..iconic song.if I could play the guitar my neighbours would also love this song.
