Rear sub frame removal
Hello folks, I will eventually have to remove the rear subframe of my 04tf ,
I just can’t live wth crud and rust,I will do it in my garage ,can any one tell me the minimum head room I will need.
I have already don the front end and working my way back.

I am in the process of doing this in my drive but due to space limitations I am lowering the subframe, I will lift the engine back up into the bay, slide the new frame in and drop the engine back down.
If you measure the distance from the floor to the top of the engine, you have to raise the body by this much to get the engine out.

Hi thanks for your advice,it sounds like your way is going to be a bit of a balancing act but you will have more room outside.
I think I would rather have everything set up and bolted together before it goes out and in less skinned knuckles hopefully,so it’s out with the tape measure. good luck :woo2:

If it works I'll be able to do it without disconnecting anything apart from the drive shafts.
I'll be making use of my engine crane to lift the engine.
