recently (december) sold a 02 TF full MOT no known faults and in pretty good condition (no dents scratches or rust).
Very basic spec 135 car with 50,000 on clock. No hard top though!
Happily sold it for £750
So the one you are looking at .... a little (£100 or so for the roof) over scrap value I would suggest!
There are so many around, so without MOT and needing work they are pretty well valueless!

Guy wanted £1500 for it :omg:
It needed mot, rear hood window, all arches plus various other scabs sorting, new discs and pads plus tyres.
Offered him £250 without the hardtop which he says is worth £400.

With no MOT it is scrap value only, a new hardtop is less than £400.

T'is sad but true. Our cars have such a savage (and dare I say richly deserved) rep for unreliability and build quality that resale values are woeful. Having replaced many components on ours: drive flange, ball joints, bushes, HG etc etc that should last 100k+ at 30k or less I'm hard pressed to defend.
Bought our hard top, now seldom used, for 2 ton. Possibly a bit over, if I'm honest. Worth one and a half. Or less probably. Leaks like a f***ed washing machine due to tired rubber seals. If I offer it for sale, it's perfect however.
I'd have offered maybe a ton and a quarter for what was advertised, without HT, two and a bit with a haggle maybe with HT.
Sad but true. As I said, 'kin woeful. We continue to defend the indefensible. Because we care for 'em.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Looking at prices in the UK for second hand MG TF's they are cheap compared to what they cost on the European mainland.
I you look at autoscout24 in e.g. Netherlands, Germany, France, a decent MGTF will cost about 4000 to 8000 euro.
I bought mine for 5000 euro's including harddtop, and some maintenance that had to be done.
I spoke to a guy last summer, that bought MG F and TF's in the UK, exported them to the mainlaind, converted it to left hand drive, an sold these here.
