Unleaded here is now £1.30+

If your prices are in Euro, then no different!

If in £ then you are taking a chance for a couple of ££££

Not sure if you are over there on holiday, but when i drive in europe I dont care about the fuel cost. Its just part of the holiday price!

Okay , so I am going with the GB sticker , even though I don't like it . I thought about the magnetic one but then remembered being in a car park in Bologne with the MG ZR a few years ago . Came back to the car and caught three young oiks removing my chrome dust caps ! ! ! Grabbed one of them before he cycled off on his bike and in my best Franglais told him he could have his bike back when I got my dust caps back ! He duly sought out his accomplises. While he was away and thinking he would not return , I swiftly slackened both of his pedals . Surprisingly he returned with the dust caps so, I then returned the bike and watched him try to pedal off ........little ......darling !

This was on radio 2 today..reporting about thefts in London using mopeds to steal mobile phones..but by no means is it just isolated to London. ...a bit like the plague really....how it spread...a lot of that was in London aswell.....France not being to far away from London. ..well...you do the maths!...they seam to be making big bucks at it....theres probably 1000s of cases of mobile phone thefts using mopeds in stoke on trent...but because of lack of resources they won't of botherd to investigate them...and the crime rate stays lower.....doesn't it?.....some thieves ain't thick and with a place like France. ..must be a lot of mopeds over there the thieves could mingle in......

Hi Sworks. I know it's easy for me to say, but i wouldn't worry overly much about it. We spent the last 4 years living in South West France but with an R56 mini cooper registered and insured in the UK. We had a magnetic GB sign as our numberplate didn't have the european sign. However, somehow after the first 2 years it became welded onto the boot and now we can't get it off! In our experience, certainly where we were in the LOT, the gendarmes really didn't want to get involved with foreign cars and would always wave us though roadblocks when they were breathalysing all the french drivers. Incidentally, whilst it is a requirement for you to carry 2 breathalysers in the car the french played up so much about this that they never put in the legislation for a resulting fine. It's illegal but there's no penalty applicable! (Can't imagine that happening in the UK) There are a few Gatsos about now (not many, but a few) however if you are in a UK registered car and you trigger one you probably don't need to worry. We were caught once but never heard anything. However if you get caught by a gendarme for speeding that's a different matter as they'll march you off to the nearest ATM for the money! Have a great time; it's a pleasure driving over there compared with here.
