Just been out to put a Tif’s Roof up and close windows, turned key and there was an almighty clunk. Turn key a couple of times more but just clunked again before it fired into life. Got a feeling Starter is on it’s way out, is it easy to change?

Yeah, it was more than that. The solenoid has been sticking lately as it seems to be slightly slow in disengaging.

Starting to think engine had hydro locked and wasn’t starter, Hg has just gone, luckily hasn’t overheated but a little emulsification on dipstick .. Spent to much money to turn back now 😣😣😣😣

Not any more, I’ve got limited use of my right hand makes it hard to do big jobs, plus haven’t got time. Booked it in with Rough Luck Racing. Started Tif today and running really lumpy so defiantly look like HGF. Just hoping heads ok, and the last garage who changed the head gasket and trashed the inlet cam and sprocket haven’t left any nasty surprises. Plus side I needed to change the oil so that’s sort of comes off the bill lol.
