Wanted- Heat shield
Hi Everybody
The bodger who worked on my car (1998 VVC) before me did not replace the heatshield at the back of the engine that protects the alternator, if any one has one inc the fixings please let me know, the heat shield on the other side is present but not bolted to anything at the top so I probably have some sort of bracket missing as well so seeking that also.
Because the shield was missing as well as the one under the wheelarch ! the alternator is totally goosed the casing has split and it is siezed solid.....
I am in no tearing hurry as the car is off the road now until next spring whilst a whole load of work is carried out.
I am saving this one from the grave.

Get the plastic one for the TF. Much better than the cardboard original! They will fit though the holes are not be in the right place.

Fitted my F perfectly, holes were spot on and it even accommodated the hydragas pipe.

Found a heatshield on E Bay fitted now and a new alternator belt and rose jointed adjuster, the heat shield looks differnt to other F.s that I have owned but fits well covering the whole manifold, it even came with the bracket that fixed it to the cyl head.
