Cleaning the roof
I just want to give the car a good wash, but am cautious about damaging the roof by over enthusiasm or whatever – any tips please?

I’m in the same boat, there’s plenty of you tube videos, but

Full treatment includes a brush in cleaner which you then hose off and allow to dry, than a black stain or re-colour, then finally a weather proofer all of which brush on with a paintbrush.
Word of warning, It can get messy - I always mask off the windows and paint work, as the stuff can splash and run.
Looks amazing after thought and really keeps the rain out!

My roof's kind of grey, though it may have been black once...?
I'll have a look at that stuff. For routine cleaning, though, do you use a sponge and car shampoo or something?

I would say it was.
You can vacuum them but be prepared for strange looks from passer-by's.
Treat it the same as the rest of the car when washing, just don't use wax.

Oh, don't get me started. I have a VERY large cat, who insists on basking on the roof, so I have to do that already :bang:
