Hi Simon-did anyone answer your query yet?
I think I may have the answer -it looks like one of the connectors I took off when I removed the ecu for some work I did.
I will check through my photos

The first picture i've worked out goes off to the exhaust, Just the 2nd one i've yet to figure out

Simon,
are you sure that they are not the plug and socket connector to the right hand exhaust pipe sound control?
A lot of those connectors were disconnected in the early 2003/2005 cars to enhance the exhaust sound.
