MGF Suspension - Advice Sought

On my 1996 MGF the suspension on the right hand side goes down. I have pumped it up and it gradually sinks. I cannot see any evidence of leaks on the garage floor.
My questions are....
If the Nitrogen seal has gone I would expect the suspension to go up and stay hard, is that correct?
What else should I be looking for to correct this?
Thanks
Dave

If it was a failed nitrogen seal eventually the system would reach the correct pressure and remain there but the suspension would be rock hard.
Have you looked at the spheres to see if there are any signs of leaks around the connections?

Yes I've had a look at the suspension, rear at the moment and cannot see anywhere where there is a leak.
I've also had a look at the front but there is no sign of leaking or fluid on the floor - just wondering if it could be pooling somewhere?
