Hi all,

Can I suggest we have somewhere on the T-Bar site where we can list mechanics and garages that members have good experiences of? (If this already exists, I haven't stumbled across it.)

I also vouch for Jon and Claire Norris's work, they did a first class job replacing my clutch last summer, and Jon also managed to free off a seized bolt on my ZT-T which I could not shift.
Now....
Not strictly a garage, but a source for spares, and they have begun to start doing refurbishment work on customers F and TF's
I have seen the great work that they do on subframe and engine replacements, also under floor trays and bracing bars, exhaust fitting and brakes. They also stock just about anything you may need and a lot special extras for our MG's.
Darren and Jill Hardy at MGFnTFbitz are excellent in their approach and attitude to the MG community and their mantra is to keep as many of our cars on the road as possible.

Also I have had great service from Dave and Kayleigh Allkins, trading as MG Mobile Mechanics and based in Derby.
A cam belt replacement which ended up also as a tricky subframe arm replacement and new anti vibration engine mount and taking about 6 hours to complete instead of the normal 2 hours. These guys had parts available to fit and only charged me a minimal amount for the spares and nothing extra for the addition time of their mechanic to fit the parts. Top drawer service.

Jason is extremely helpful, knows his stuff and is not too expensive. The downside is that they only do repairs at the workshop.

Andy repairs and rebuilds classic cars, mainly the MG range. He has looked after my F for years and does a fantastic job. I can honestly say that there is nothing that he does not know about these machines.
Head gaskets are his speciality, and he is always willing to talk about any issues, including hydrolastic spheres!

He is based a couple of minutes from the Derby rugby ground.

Kevin did the head gasket and coolant pipes for the previous owner of my car and has done brakes, rear suspension units and cambelt for me. He has also given me good advice. Very experienced and very reasonable.

Another for 'up-north'!

Stuart knows MG's but does not specialize in them. However, has fitted many accessories, and completed general repairs to my TF.
