secondhand engines spec

I'm considering buying a spare engine for my 1.6 115 TF. There are lots of engines on eBay and I was wondering if there is any difference between the 1.6 K series engines fitted to other MG models, e.g cams, compression, etc. Is there a website that provides a comparison by engine / model?

The MGTF 1.6 is the only one to use a PG1 gearbox, other 1.6s used a different box, I don't know if the bell housing is different as a result.

Also the alternator location my be different.
