Hi all,
Time to buy my summer tyres, I'm going for Toyo Proxes T1-R. Just checked prices and 215's are twice the price of 225's for the rear. So, the question is: Can I fit 225's on 11spoke wheels without them rubbing at the back.
My last car had 225's on the back (aftermarket wheels) but 8mm spacers, I want to try and avoid spacers.
Thanks in advance
Keith

Not 100 percent sure on this, but I cannot see 5mm a side causing an interference, but at half the price I can see why you would want to go with the larger tyre.....its just Toyo's - rather you than me!

Thanks for that Sundance, it was either Toyo or Falken in my mind unless you can come up with something better. My winter tyres are Hankook, absolutely superb. I still have a bit of time though because changeover is April 2nd, although here (CZ) you can drive with winter tyres all year but must have winter tyres from Nov to April.

Just have a look at recent tyre posts on the forums regarding 16 inch wheels and Toyo's. I used to swear by them but the new compound did not impress me at all. I only did 500 miles before changing the full set to Falkens.
I think some other people may still like them, or maybe just the tread pattern. Falkens for me until something better comes along.

Thanks again Sundance,
I remember reading about the changed compound but I didn't take any notice of the date of the various posts. I thought they were much earlier and everything was sorted by now.
You are the second person who has recommended Falkens the other one was Neil from TT exhausts, so in veiw of this I may well steer towards them rather than Toyo.
Thanks again

Hi Keith,
I'm with Sundance. Like him, my TF with 16" wheels became undriveable with Toyos fitted to the rear. (And I'm not talking mildly undriveable - the car handling became dangerous.) Go with Falkens, or you might not live to regret it!

Hi Winko,
Thanks fo the input, it's funny but my last TF did have several "moments" especially one about 18 months ago (it was dry and sunny) where I nearly ended up in a ditch on a winding road. I put it down to worn shocks, bad set up and so on. Now I realise that possibly this was caused by the tyres.
Thanks, my mind is made up now, Falkens all round, and I don't need 225's.
