TF front wishbone replacement compared to an F ? was created by countax

Good morning,
i am about to change a TF wishbone over the coming week or so and wish to understand the differences in changing a TF wishbone compared to an F?
I have done several F's but never one without hydrolastic suspension. On the F i recall i held up the suspension by inserting a chisel between the top arm and the subframe. On the TF do i need to buy a spring compressor to hold the spring in compression?
I also read many horror stories about subframe bolt quality on the TF. None of the F ones snapped so which ones are the problem on the TF, front, back or both? A large can of Plusgas is on its way to me to aid any seized bolts with a daily spraying prior to doing the job.
Many thanks.

The TF shock/spring assembly can be easily manoeuvred, IIRC I raised the car onto an axle stand and then used a trolley jack at the base of the shock mount to compress it enough to remove/install the lower bolt. You only need a compressor if dismantling the shock/spring assembly.

The big difference between the F and TF subframe mounts is that the F mount has a rubber core where as the TF mount is hollow so crud and moisture are held in it allowing corrode away. This applies to all 4 corners of both subframes. I fitted F mounts on my TF subframes on my F. On a TF that will soften the ride slightly.
