Has anyone out there in MG land found a way to successfully repair the front lower seat securing strip back to the seat frame ( as in photo).
or. found a new fixing strip to replace the original sewn in one.
thanks
Mike

One of the securing strips on my F's seat bottom is almost that bad. I'd think a local automotive upholstery shop would be able to help you with a new strip.

Good Evening. The problem you have is similar to the one I have on my 2004 MG TF which I purchased last May. The securing strip on the driver's seat cannot be put back in place. I have come to the conclusion that the best option, as I intend to keep the car, is to exchange the seats for leather ones ( possibly second hand given the price of new ones ) - the current seats are cloth and although they are in reasonable condition for the age of the car they look a little tired and there is some wear on the driver's seat. Hope this helps you in reaching a decision. I have to say that you took a very good photo of the problem.

Hi Mike

Thanks for your message. What colour are the leather seats ( My MG TF is Royal Blue, so black would be preferable ) and how old ? How much are you looking for to sell them.

Please can you send a photo(s).

Best regards

Good morning

Do you still have seats from your MG TF for sale ?

As I said it would be handy if you could send me the information requested as I do not wish to waste your time or mine.

It is nothing personal but I just have a policy of not revealing personal details on this kind of forum.

If we can agree upon the sale of the car seats, then we can arrange an exchange of information. Trust you understand.
