Bonnet won't open

The cable has come off the latch under the bonnet again . The last time I released the bumper at the bottom and opened it with a rod is there an easier way ?

I think from the avalanche of replies to this, the answer is no . It's not something that I have had happen . If it has happened before , is the latch sticking as this used happen on vehicles I used to work on . It then allows the cable to unhook itself .

It's not something that's happened to me but if I recall, there is a way of doing though it's not widely publicised. Hopefully, someone will be along who can point you in the right direction.
