Oil Light not illuminating
Hi,
After 7 months of ownership I've just noticed that the oil light on my 2001 MGF doesn't illuminate when I turn the ignition on.
All the other warning lights come on.
I've tried to google it but can't see much about it being a common problem, so thought I would ask on here to see if anyone else had the same fault?
I'm thinking it must either be the bulb or the sensor? But not sure how to access either!

To access the bulb you need to remove the instrument surround front (4 screws), and then repeat the Speedo pod (4 more screws and the wiring connectors). Then you can access the bulbs from the back of the pod.
You could swap a known working bulb and then just plug in the connectors with it all left unscrewed to test.

Your right with your own statement bulb or sensor...it could be just the connections to sensor..has per finding the sensor Im guessing it will be on the oil filter housing.

Oil prtessure switch works by grounding the feeder wire when pressure is good.
To quickly test sensor, remove wire from sensor and touch to body earth. Dash light should illuminate.
If it does illuminate, then sensor is faulty.
if it doesnt illuminate, then wire or bulb.
Mine failed so the pressure light permantly illuminated.
