Sloppy gearchange cure for MG TF

Hello everyone,

I have recently bought a TF and the gearchange is much too sloppy. Someone told me that the gaiter can just be lifted upward. However, I remember that the process for the MG F was more complicated. Any thoughts? The how to link in the guide section has no photos.

I must admit I thought that the F and the TF are basically the same in this department.

If you unscrew the gear knob (may need something rubber to grip it properly), and then just carefully pull up on the gaiter's plastic surround, it will pop off. This guide was what I used to tighten up the action on mine
