More help required please!!!! Rear stiffening bars was created by Irayner

Good afternoon
So I was checking to see if I need a new air filter (I do) and noticed that my rear stiffening bars were fixed in the middle ONLY and the ends that you can't see have been rattling around loose doing nothing.
Strangely they are not long enough to reach the studs where I would expect them to attach.
Can't find too much online about this one but the pictures I have found show some brackets which I don't have.
Could I just remove these or are they worth having in? Secondly how on earth do I attach them??
Cheers
Ian

If I understand you correctly, the picture shows the bars that you have?
These are connected together at a single point on the bulkhead between the engine and the boot using the elongated holes.
The other ends should have a thread on them, I think. They should swing around and line up with two of the engine cover fixing holes (picture). These holes are larger because there is no captive nut. The 2 bolts fasten to the bars through the larger holes in the bodywork. The bolts have a 10mm head, the same as the other cover mounting bolts but the thread is larger.
Here you can see the correct fixing points for your bars. (Not my picture but snaffled from the interwebz)

In the thread ' what have you been doing...' the pictures of sundance are pretty clear on this.
