I need to replace the outer spring clip on my drive shaft.

The inner one is too large and Rimmers don't list the outer one seperatly.

Thanks in advance.

James

A bit of an update on this - I am no further on, and not sure where to go with it either.

Take a happy snap of it, preferably with a ruler for scale, or measure it, and we may be able to offer suggestions.

Not a bad idea but the work involved in getting to the snap ring is considerable as you have to remove the hub from the car and then dismantle it.

It is recomended to replace the snap ring with a new one when dismantaling the hub which is the only reason I was going to replace it anyway.

I have come to the conclusion it is probably ok to run with just the inner snap ring holding the shaft into the gearbox.

When I had my first maestro I had an issue with the drive shaft staying in the hub assembly when on full steering lock. As the rear hub on the F doesn't steer I think the risk is of the shaft coming out of the hub is virtually nil so I am going to leave it out. If you don't hear any more assume the shaft stayed together.
