The steel pipe buried under the centre console appears to be leaking at the rear end and has already soaked both footwells. How to remove and/or repair? 2002 MG TF.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Those pipes are well buried within the car, I suspect they were fitted before the engine.
I guess the easiest way to repair is take the centre console out and cut the pipe into sections to remove.
Then replace with a pipe made in sections.
Let us know how you get on.

Maybe replace with a flexible reinforced hose, I guess since it's close to the exhaust it gets hot 😬

Many years ago I took the dashboard and central console out to fit Mike Satur's Quick Shift.. My gut feel is that you will have to do the same to get the pipe out but I suspect that you can get the pipe out in one go and refit SS one (Rimmers sell them as one section so I guess it is possible to fit without taking the engine out). I would do both inlet and outlet whilst you are about it.

They are one unit but if you are cleaver you might be able to split them in to two.
