Binnacle change tip
I know there are loads of "how to" on a binnacle change but doing mine I found something which I don't recall being mentioned. My old one had all the tabs broken, what a surprise, but it also had a crack in the top. Looking at it I'm pretty sure it was caused by the white nylon bush which is there to receive the facia mounting screw as the screw spreads the bush it stresses the binnacle. I replaced them by using contact adhesive to stick two speed clips to the back of the binnacle which changes the spreading load to a compression load, they are easy to centre looking through the square holes and contact will allow some movement to self centre.
God how I miss that binnacle rattle

That's a good tip . I might have to look at mine as there's been a creaking coming from that area on the dash.
