BCU, where is it?
I am sure this has been covered, but for the life of me I can't find the Body Control Unit on a TF 135 and are there different types?

There are 2 types of BCU , one is Lucas ( Square Fob ) and Pectron ( Oval Fob ) . They are both located in the same place . If you remove the footwell panel where the interior lights are , you will see it below the radio , tucked behind the heater controls . It is held in place by Torx screws at either side and you will need a Torx + bit to remove them .
Hope this helps .

The Torx screws holding the BCU bracket are the security type and not a standard Torx.
texchnozen-electronics.co.uk sell them Torx bits for a few pounds.
HOPE THIS HELPS :hgf:

OK, so it's a while since I was poking around down there in my TF but the item you are looking for is a black plastic oblong box not the aluminium item that is the SRS ECU . The BCU in my TF had two 'L ' shaped anti tamper brackets that hid the torx screws holding the BCU in place . It's a rather dark area to see even in daylight so I suggest you get a good torch and look again .

I apologise if I am interfering unnecessarly but according to my records the Pektron BCU was first used on the TF at VIN 620459 (17 June 2003) so if your car was built before this date/VIN then it wont be there

Yes I appreciate that Bryan ,and no you are not interfering , but there should be a bcu of some make there surely ? :yesnod: or am I missing something? I have removed both types of BCU , Lucas and the pesky Pectron and they were both on TF's and they were in the same place
