I bought it because I wanted a shaft drive, low maintenance, comfortable commuter, so if you 're looking for something more frivolous it's not the one to choose
I got it in 2001 when it was 3 months old and with 2000 miles on it, and it and it's now 13 years and 3 months old with 95,000 miles on it, and apart from tyres and pads all it's needed is new rear wheel bearings, new rear disc and a new pair of forks when the originals became pitted and started leaking damper oil, so I consider it a good workhorse, and despite its nickname it still out accelerates most things on 4 wheels (0-60 in a little over 6 secs). I ride it about 60 miles each way to London to work in summer, and to the train station when it's too cold in winter, and it's free to park (and easy to find a space) at both.
If I was replacing it I quite fancy the BMW F800ST although I've never ridden one.

Now I just have the KTM left and that has languished in the back of the garage for about 2 years now. It is a 2006 Supermoto, a nice bike, but when it is sunny we always go out in the TFs. It will see daylight again though.
