Another Guess that tool.
I had to manufacture this tool today; it's for something on the K series engine (F/TF all marques)
Guess away.

Decided to finally do the leaking head gasket, I had a look at the valve seats while the head was off, the inlets look OK but the exhaust valve seats are a bit rough so will need a tad of lapping in.
In the head kit was a set of valve stem seals so it would have been a shame not to do them at the same time.
I had bought deep throated valve spring compressor when I did the head on my ex 955i Daytona but still not quite the right size to get the collets out so I made one up from a piece of 1” nominal bore steel water pipe and a Record G clamp, works a treat.

Another task while the head was off:
I changed the plastic inlet manifold for the alloy type some time ago and struggled to fit M8 nuts to the 2 outer lower studs, I ended up turning down a 13mm socket to get it to fit between the nut and manifold and probably spent an hour trying to eventually fit them.
With the head and manifold off you can see there is no clearance for a socket, I found some old M8 Atlas bolts with M10 heads so it should be a breeze going back on. So for those who are going to retro fit the alloy manifold; you need 4 off M8 Atlas bolts with M10 heads. (What bolts are fitted to the original alloy manifold, anyone know?)

For some unknown reason. Brian's post revealing the answer had been 'soft deleted'. I've restored it and all should now make sense.
