Actually I used to know a very dodgey unlicenced used car dealer, (he was a friend of my evil sister) who dealt it jap cars, he would open up the speedo and would use a very sharp needle to rotate the cover with the numbers printed on it by carefully pricking it and dragging it around the cylinder it was mounted on, this bloke Earl was so crooked he couldn't lieIn the old days with the numbered letters on a roller it was very easy to spring them apart and rotate them like a rubic cube to get the desired reading.
So I am told...
straight in bed and always had some scam or another on the go!
We all have friends like that..but of course you know I was only recounting a story of what went on...not the perpertrator...gulp.
