I would be the last person to advise against a low coolant sensor from our renown bassist, but do ensure your car requires one. If you feel under the header tank & you find a cable & connector, you already have a factory fitted unit.
If you disconnect the plug (depress the clip & hope for the best), the next bit is a “I can’t remember which way to test situation” but it’s either going to indicate when open circuit, or by shorting the connections the warning will show.
This will prove the system, you might need someone to check the dashboard lights whilst you fiddle.
Can anyone help with the open/short circuit conundrum, or maybe “Out Kid” could fill us in, once verified.
