That looks fantastic. Really neat job. Going to take some meaty wheels to fill the arches though.

I don't like it. :nonod:

Certain things on certain cars just don't look right.

It looks a neat job though.

Here's a rough and ready photoshop showing the effect with bigger sized wheels.

Certainly one of the best looking body kits I've seen on an MGF, the new panels blend perfectly with the original body shape.

So with the test fitting done it's time to get on with fitting the kit for real. The plan is to chop the font bumper, lower it and to then bond the wings into the front bumper to produce a monocoque, 1 piece front end. Everything is a direct bolt on replacement with the exception of the side skirts. The area where the skirts meets the body was taken back to bare metal:

The side skirts were then trimmed and then bonded to the body of the car. The skirts were also fixed in place with a series of bolts until the bonding agent cures/dries. Once cured/dried The bolts will then be removed and work can begin on blending in the side skirts with the body:

Booked in on the 30th to get new underwater cooling pipes fitted, a Direnza radiator and if i can find some pipes the piper cross cold air induction kit. Also sometime between now and then (fingers crossed everything goes smoothly) i will attempt to replace the front sub frame mounts.

Work continues but at a slow pace owing to my finances. With the side skirts now bonded to the car, the bolts that were used to fix it in place have been removed. The edges of the skirts (where they meet the body) were trimmed down, and work has started with filler to blend them into the body.

The guys at the bodyshop have also made some custom "spats" to cover the gap/space between the original wheel arches and the new ones.

and painted up

more updates will follow as when things get done

I'm deliberately trying not to set a completion date. mainly because It's all down to money (something i have very little of) and also because I honestly don't know. As long as i can keep making progress i'm happy
