Just using Corel Photopaint. It is part of the excellent Corel drawing package and is near enough the same as Photoshop.
All you do is use a mask tool to draw a mask around the light unit, then invert the mask, so the bit your working on is everything but the light unit, then use the edit functions to replace colours or convert to greyscale etc.
The hardest part is getting the mask spot on. If you look closely at the blue one you can still see red around the light as I didn't spend much time on the mask.
