I was thinking it would be logical to meet south west of the city, rather than me driving north to turn southwest.
So there's a big garden centre ( CA5 6LB )on the A595 southwest of the city, it's called Dobbies. How about there?
It's about an hour from there to Howgate, so if we say 10:00?
Unless you want to meet earlier and have a pre-run run through the Lakes.

That sounds good to me. I am up for an earlier meet if you want too. It'll be fun either way.

Ain't it funny, how time slips away...?

That's a long old drive on the Saturday. :yesnod:

Not really. It is 155 miles, but we have no return trip. The route was picked to give a good days driving without getting to the hotel too early. Even at an average speed of 30 mph it is 5 hours which will see us getting to the hotel around 3.30pm. Table is booked for 7.30pm. If running late we can cut out the bottom loop and head straight across the lakes.

Great to meet everyone this morning and a fun drive through great countryside. No wonder so many people go to the Lake District on holiday. Of course, following a motorcyclist moving at the speed of a zimmer limited snail, from Penrith to the Cafe on the Alston road was, if I may be succinct, interesting. I didn't know that motorbikes could move that slowly. :tapfoot:

Not a great picture, but this must rate as the first time I have ever seen six MG roadsters in a row.

Oh yes - there is one drawback of meets like this - I am now looking on the inter web for Prelude spoilers and Lexus 3 light rear clusters... :yesnod: :nonod:

Really enjoyed the run today. Lovely weather, and great peeps too.
That's the first time I've seen a queue of cars being held up by a motorbike going up Hartside! :omg:
Some of my Hartside video is unusable due to loud profanities aimed at the Zimmer 600 rider.
Arthur's language was terrible! I will get some video up on the site. Eventually...
