The Border Patrol are coming to Derbyshire.
As of Friday, The Border Patrol will be staying near Buxton in Derbyshire.
We will be taking in the Peak district, maybe dabbling in the Welsh border (we are the Border Patrol), round Matlock etc.
What I was wondering is if anyone living in that area has any suggestions for good runs, roads, things to see.
Also, if anyone is interested in meeting up, either for a run, or just for a natter.
We are also holding a memorial run on the Sunday to remember Larry Hinrichs who, unfortunately, died on last years BP Wales holiday. If anyone is interested in joining us on that one, please let me know.

I know this will be a really enjoyable holiday for the guys and anyone local should make the attempt to take part.
I will be there in spirit especially for Larry's run. :broon:

We are over that way and would love to meet up or maybe join in the run I can't see the link on facebook can someone please let me have the details...
p.s. if you go over Via Gelia (which is a fantastic road just past Matlock) please watch out for the Police Bike with the Speed Gun - the git got me last Saturday - but maybe it was my fault, overtaking a BMW doing 80 wasn't probably the best idea as I passed him.

Sorry. Didn't see this until today. We had limited internet service in the wilds.
We are back now, but I will post some pics up later.
Didn't see many police to be fair, but you do have the monopoly on 50mph signs.

As promised, here are some photos of the weeks BP Holiday.
The Lodge was just right, loads of rooms, large communal areas and a big car park, which was needed.
The roads were good, but everything seems to be limited to 50mph and some of the country roads even have average speed cameras along them. Now, while I don't condone stupid driving, it smacks too much of a nanny state.
We spent the week visiting a few of the towns and villages, taking in the roads and country lanes.
We even went on a train ride down to Matlock.
We also visited The National Memorial Arboretum.
Some people just couldn't take the pace.
The weather held out for most of the holiday. We did have some rain etc, but it never got in the way.
