squires meet
the large puddle we encountered
some other idiots were also braving the cold
the trees were a welcome rest stop
finally at mother shiptons the river gave a nice audio back drop
the petrifying well....(didnt scare me)
mother shipton was looking surprisingly good given her age
kev?...your supposed to put money INTO the wishing well!

Did you notice the old guy with the yellow coat who was out walking saying to Steve - "Why has that blue car got a hard top on..?"

Posted 14 years 11 months ago #3813left home about 8am, roof down, arrived at squires just on 10 roof still down
retreated in doors for a cup of coffee and a hot sandwich.......resisted the full breakfast (unlike some!)
then proceeded to have a lovely tour of the area by andy, who was such a good guide he even backtracked a couple times in case anyone missed something the first time round
finally arrived at mother stiltons cave, had a pleasant walk about then back to the cars for a cuppa at dawn and janes mobile coffee shop.
then off home a round trip of 315 miles for us and the only rain we saw was in the last 30mile towards home
was nice to meet up again with some familiar faces and great to get to know some new ones
many many thanks to andy for the great day
heres some more pics of the same things.....
