I though I'd separate these from the other tyre info, for ease of use. Click on the table.

A number of people have mentioned issues with Toyo tyres since the company moved production to Malaysia. It appears that Malaysian Toyos can have very different handling characteristics from Japanese Toyos.

my old eyes have failed to detect a 16" tyre for a TF that will allow me to heed the warnings above in red. There must be a solution

There's lots. :yesnod:
You just need to remember 195/45/16 front, and.215/40/16 rear on TFs. B)
Also this list is not exhaustive and has not been updated in a while.
I'm running uniroyal rainsports and am very happy with them.

Still very happy with my Hankook ventus V12 evo (215/40/16 K120, XL) allround on my Y2001 MGF.

Good grip in dry as well as wet conditions while being just a bit cheaper than the Toyo's (at least here in the netherlands)

I am now running Falken ZE914 XL 215/40.16 tyres all around on my F. Happy with them so far.:broon:

I'm on the same since last August - I much prefer the Falkens to the previous (Japanese) Toyos. The Falkens feel far less 'twitchy' although the initial turn-in is not quite so sharp and feel very good to me for everyday driving.
