Hi all ... Just got a new toy ... 2002 Mirage (IAS) TF that might be known to some members on here already since I'm the 10th owner !

Bought unseen via on-line auction, I'm chuffed with the whole 2 seater TF experience thus far, although the car itself needs a bit of TLC.

I'm currently sourcing quotes for some minor bodywork repairs where there's some paint bubbling on the front wings, boot, and arches which all appear to be standard areas of vulnerability. Some mechanical checks; strong smell of fuel, brakes are vibrating a bit and the alarm seems to go off for no apparent reason in the early hours. Currently fitted with a decat, I'll be refitting the standard cat but the K maps remap and TT (I think) exhaust should still provide ample ooomph but without quite so much drone.

Looking forward to familiarising myself with the site.

Hello and :welcome:

The boot loom wiring is a good place to start with the random alarm issues. The wires tend to break around the hinge area causing all sorts of problems.

I'm sure you'll find the answers to the rest of your problems on here.

:welcome: I agree with Bob the boot loom is a major concern, had to take mine apart and found all sorts of wires broken, take you about 3 hours to sort out if you are handy with soldering , not a great problem, but if not fixed can give you loads of them. good luck and let us know how you get on.

Sold today and off to South West France.

I wish the new owner all the best and hope that they enjoy thousands of great miles in that beautiful area. My shed's free of spares now too - just the private plate paperwork - M11 GTF - in the drawer (in case anyone's interested....)

Thanks for the tips and advice.

Safe motoring....

To be fair - probably one of the longest times you've owned a car LOL ;)
