Hello just got myself an MGF Abingdon was created by Old gh bug

Hi everyone , I’m very new to MGF scene but have been messing with mainly aircooled vws and TR’s.
I have got this Abingdon which has only had two owners.
It has had the head gasket done but it has a tapping noise at 2000rpm and up . Not sure what it is ? The P/O said it might be something to do with the vvc timing

Hi and :welcome: to the forum from John in Pudsey Yorkshire. Well there are folk on the Bar who own VVC's and will give you a few pointers on this . It's been a bit quiet on here recently so just keep watching for replies . I'm sure you will enjoy your MGF .

Thanks I am reading the forum avidly , hopefully I will get it sorted soon when the weather lets me, I’m in the north east, Cleveland area.

Welcome.

In my opinion, the Abingdon is the best looking 'special' F or TF that was made.

Thanks yes this forum is brilliant, I am new to modern mg’s But learning fast I have a few jobs to do on it but can’t wait to drive it properly.

I want to put it back to original and keep it standard

I’m sure I will be asking lots of questions
