Here we have my (2000) X Registered MGF with just under 23,000 miles. It is the extremely rare Automatic Steptronic version.

For photos see Car and Classic advert. (Unable to add photos or links to this advert). Or contact me for photos and videos.

I bought it in early 2025 from Country Car, Barford, as a fun car for my commute to work in nice weather.

Prior to my ownership I believe it had 2 owners. The previous owner having had it for the best part of 10 years and only ever driving it in nothing but perfect weather. This can be verified with the MOT history. I believe the first owner was a lady that worked at the original car dealship.
It is in superb condition with zero signs of rust.  You can really tell that this car has only ever been well looked after and only driven in nice weather and then kept in storage. I used it last summer during the heatwave. Once that was finished the car was returned to being kept in storage.

The roof is also in excellent condition with with no rips, tears or cuts. Also there is no green algae at all. Looks amazing considering the age. It operates and fits as it should.
The alloy wheels still present extremely well and show no signs of kerb rash or corrosion. It has Kuhmo tyres fitted all round which have very little miles on them as I think they were fitted in 2024.
There is one small car park ding in the passenger door.

I have removed and cleaned the black internal trim to remove the stickiness that develops from the original rubber that is on it. This has come out extremely well and makes the car look more modern. I have also fitted a discreet modern radio that allows for Bluetooth phone calls and easy access to your own music. It can be used with or without a phone on display. I have also replaced the handbrake gaiter with a new leather one. I have removed the original internal lining of the tonneau cover due to the foam disintegrating. The leather itself is in amazing condition and is to good to get rid off. I therefore glued in 2 new linings which has worked out really well. The new owner may want to replace the whole cover or get a new lining stitched in.

There are no mechanical issues and the cars drives lovely. When driving, all oil and coolant temps remain solid and have no issues.

It has just been MOT'd and sailed though with no issues at all.
I have recently performed a full service on the car including oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, engine oil change and gearbox oil change. All items bought and supplied from Rimmer Bros.

There was no service history documented in the Owners hand book when I purchased the car. However I was given a signed letter from Country Car from the previous owner stating it was serviced by him every year. I had good faith in this as after checking service items before buying, everything looked new and the engine oil looked new.

The car will come with a Classic Additions waterproof half car cover. Also I have 2 sets of mats. One set of original MG mats for car shows and another set of fitted mats for day to day use.

As for actually driving the car day to day, it is pleasure to drive. With it being the Steptronic version, it is very easy to drive when in traffic or around town. But once those country roads are in sight and you want to enjoy, put it in Sport and let the Steptronic take over. Playing with the "Frogeyes" on the steering wheel is very enjoyable or using the sequential gear shift brings the car alive. It has a lovely note to the exhaust and handles really well. The MGF really was a good effort by MG and the British car industry to rival the MX5. I have also taken the car to a couple of car shows last year, which was great fun. It still gets attention and stands well with other cars.

I am looking to sell due to having one too many toys. I need to put some time and money into these other projects. Since the MGF is in such good condition, its the obvious toy that has to go. I really have loved owning and driving it.

The mileage may increase slightly if the weather stays nice.

Seems to be overpriced to my mind, I cant see that many people are looking for an automatic F. Why are you wanting to sell it after such a short time of ownership?

Hi. Well, hopefully there might be someone that is looking for a rust free, low mileage F. As my advert says I am open to offers and also it says I need to free up some time and money for other projects. Hence selling.

Good luck with your sale. Many of the owners you'll find here on the forums are keen weekend mechanics though for whom £ 4.5k seems quite top end. Fs and TF prices are gradually rising but there are still lots around that just need some paint or a new hood that can still be picked up for a few hundred and easily brought up to scratch.
Not wanting to burst your bubble further here but Stepspeeds arent very rare. Quite a few of them have had the addition of the faster camshafts from the 135 TF as its a cheap as chips performance upgrade to gain an extra 15 horses. Add a SAWS or KMAPs ECU remap and they will comfortably deliver a further 10% above that.
