hey guys this is my mgf... well sort of, it's james MGF but because of the moronic rules on MG-Rover .org i have bought it for 1 whole pounds so i can sell it and give him the money lol

ad from .org......

Here I'm selling my MGF

It belonged to my best mate and im selling after it suffered Head Gasket failure, James has now bought a TF and sadly I don't have the time to fix the HGF so were selling it as is.

As you can see from the below pictures the bodywork is in absolutely fantastic condition.

James bought the car from VVC_Steve a breaker who many forums members have come to know and trust.

The car belonged to a friends of Steves who took it with them when they emigrated to spain and brought it home with them when the re-patriated. The result of that fantastic spanish sun is bodywork that most F's and many TFs could only dream of!

The interior is very nice although showing the ware you'd expect for the age and milage, seat bolsters and carpet being the only real issues the walnut vents and center console look fantastic however.

The only modification to this car is a MG logo'd gear knob, it evan has the tax disk holder and number plates from its MG-Rover dealership!

This is a prime example of a MK1 MG-F and is a guaranteed future classic!

Good Stuff:

VVC engine
Gorgeous Paint
Walnut interior trim
Half leather seats
Totally original
Loads of MOT (April 2011)
Tax till December
Roof in great condition
New back window only a few months ago
Original car, never messed about with!

Bad Stuff:
It has HGF (hence price)
Hydrogas needs a pump up

I'm looking for 650.00 or as close as possible, with under 200 quids worth of parts needed to fix it properly (head gasket, new bolts and possibly a head skim) this car will be not only a grand little winder project but a very cheap MG!

Pictures:

Teesside meet, open to all MG/Rs. 3rd Sunday of the month, ask for times and places!!!

Hi Adam,
What is the date of manufacture, or the date of first registration on this car?
I'm looking for a red one, but it has to be 15 years old to get it into Canada.

Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich,:welcome2:

The R registration prefix means first registered in 1997-98.

So not quite old enough.:nonod:

Some more info for you. The MGF was first manufactured in August 1995 and they are registered 'N'

The registration letter changed in August so 'N' covers up to end July 96. 'P' from August 1996-July 1997 etc.

Thanks David,
I still haven't quite got the hang of the British Reg numbers.
Over here we just go by model year and the number plates don't
give any clues as to the year.
Pity the car is a bit too late for me. It looks like a nice solid one
and the mechanics can always be sorted out.

Cheers,
Rich

LOVE Andy Capp, by the way.
The cartoon is still running in the Daily Mirror!

Andy is a reminder of my late Dad.
Here's a pic of me with my old Magnette.:)

You don't see Andy in the papers over here much any more.
Apparently he's not PC enough.
