Hi

this is my first post on this forum, but I have used the info on the site to help me do the HG swap on my MGF and remove the rear subframe, so cheers!

I bought myself a non running MGF, with the intention of cheaply and easily fixing and using.

However a series of unfortunate events (2 Head gasket swaps) identified that in fact the bottom end of the engine was at fault!

So I have decided to break the car instead.

The cylinder head has been re-skimmed at my local engine specialist.
The roof is in excellent condition, no rips or tears and the rear screen is new.
Everything is available, I could do a prise list, but if anyone is interested in any parts please let me know(PM, Text, call)

I am not a trader of any sorts. I just need to get my money back from the car so I can buy another car to get to work ;)

Cheers
Chris

PS I have pictures of the car/parts, ill try to work out how to upload the pics to share soon.

Hi Chris

Welcome to the forum,

Might also be worthwhile having a price in mind for the whole car, Somebody might grab it as a project.

Thanks.

Good point. Although I've already started breaking the car! As I removed the rear subframe to get the engine out! But unless someone fancies a big Meccano set.....
Rear subframe was a bugger to remove and I wasn't inclined to spend another 400 quid on a engine and wrestle to get the subframe back on.
Its been ongoing for a month now and I've moved house in the mean time! Doesn't win me any brownie points with the missus that's for sure!

You can upload photos by going to www.tinypic.com load them there one at a time and then just paste the code into this thread. simples!
You ought to suggest a price for the "whole box of bits" as psymon suggested, someone may want it as a project. you should also give some indication of prices for the various bits if you do decide to break it up.

Welcome to the forum too.

Hi Bryan

Thanks!

I'm not sure someone would want a fully stripped down MGF would they?

With any luck the pictures should be attached...

Thanks Bryan!

The car stands me at £800 at the moment, so it would be nice to get close to that for the parts, as i dont think the car will fetch that much as a project.
But i'm open to offers on any parts or the whole car, as I need a new car to get to work.

Cheers
