I have an early type hood free to anyone who wants it. It was on my car when I got it. Rear plastic screen is in good condition with no splits, hood fabric had a few holes that were sealed with storm sure. It didn't leak though. I think this type was fitted on the 1996 early models. Might be ok for anyone with a split or torn hood. It's free if you want it. Has not got the front hood clips

That's a great offer for someone Tim: nice one!

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Tibs - sorry got the name wrong - I bought StormSeal from amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002YXYTPI/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00
Use it from the inside and it seals holes, if it remember rightly it dries clear, so can be coloured after for any shade hood.
The hood had come away from the silver disc shaped things where the hood pivots on opening and closing, I released the hood, put loads of this adhesive on flipped the hood fabric over the disc and partiall closed the roof again. Left overnight to cure and in the morning it was fixed. Seems to be perfect - also fixed my flappy sole on CAT boots.
In one of the Amazon reviews a guy used it to repair his Honda S2000 roof.
I'd recommend it

Talking cars- yes including the frame. It's not pristine to look at, but it opened and closed perfectly so not bent or twisted ( unlike the other car we've just bought)

We used to use a similar/same product under the name Aquasure. It was used on wetsuits and dry suits to repair cuts and gashes. Brilliant stuff. The only downside was that once opened the tube had to be kept in the freezer or the whole tube set!

No close ups, just pics from a distance of it on the car. Pm me your email and I'll send them to you. Or send me pics of your hood and I'll tell you mines any better, what's wrong with yours?
I had waterproofed it a couple of weeks before the change too.
